Frequently asked questions

What time does church start?
Our Sunday gatherings are at 10:30am (Doors open at 10am for refreshments), 4pm (Doors open at 3:30pm for refreshments), and 6:30pm (Doors open at 6pm for refreshments)

Where is the church?
We are located at 41 Gas Street, Birmingham, B1 2JT

What should I wear?
Most people dress casually – but feel free to wear what you like!

Where can I park?
There is limited free parking on meters in local roads, and several pay car parks in the area. Buses and trains are also easily accessible – see our travel page for more info.

What should I expect?
When you come in you will be welcomed by our host team and offered a tea or coffee. There will be some singing, a short Bible-based talk and a chance to be prayed with if you would like. You are very welcome to engage as much as you would like, even if if it is just coming in to watch what is going on.

Do you have any events for newcomers?
We run regular welcome events to give those who are new a chance to find out more, including a "Hello and Welcome" lunch every few months for everyone new to Gas Street.

What happens during a gathering?
Our gatherings are introduced by one of our church leaders and start with a time of celebration and sung worship. This normally lasts 20-25 minutes. All the words are on the screens so you can sing along if you would like to. There is no pressure to do that and you should feel free to engage at your own pace, even if that means not singing at all. Communion is served monthly (weekly communion is available at St Luke's Great Colmore Street).

What about my kids?
We have supervised Gas Street Kids groups for children from nursery school age to school year 6 during our 10:30am and 4pm gatherings and Gas Street Youth for those in school years 7-13 during the 4pm gathering. You can register your children before the gathering and our kids and youth teams will be there to answer any questions. There is a dedicated space with toys for parents with babies to sit in the main worship area and also the cafe. Find out more by visiting our Kids and Youth page.
