Practical Skills

What is involved in being a part of this GS Team?

If you have a skill such as DIY, carpentry, plumbing, painting or engineering - we’d love you to volunteer to help develop the buildings & facilities of Gas Street Church. Our amazing team works to fix issues around the building, install new equipment and grow ideas as to how we can best serve the congregation and visitors that come through our doors

How often do I serve as part of this GS Team?

This depends on your availability and the work that is required. Unlike other GS Teams, this isn’t something to be involved with on Sunday’s, but usually during the week and ad-hoc based on the needs of the building. We also run Saturday working days to get a lot done with a large group of people! By signing-up you are letting us know your availability & skills and we will try to best match this with our current projects

Do I need to have relevant experience?

Basic knowledge of DIY is required. If you have specialised skills please let us know as this is useful to know for upcoming larger projects

What type of person are you looking for?

We are looking for both skilled professionals for big projects, and people just willing to get involved in whatever way they can! If you are happy to muck-in and work independently and as part of a team to get things done - we’d love to hear from you!

Do I need to have been a Christian (or at Gas Street) for a long time to sign-up?

No!

What will I get out of being part of this GS Team?

We hope you will find this a rewarding team to be a part of, being at the heart of our building development, growing in your skills and meeting others along the way!
